Women of the West Museum Hosts Publication Launch
and Reunion of 50 Western Women in Denver

On May 5, the Women of the West Museum hosted, in cooperation with the Tattered Cover at its lower downtown (LoDo) store, the publication launch, special readings, book signing and reunion of more than 50 contributors to Woven on the Wind: Women Write About Friendship in the Sagebrush West, the new sequel to the highly successful Leaning Into the Wind.

This new volume of "true stories", essays and poems from the heart of the American West was compiled by Linda Hasselstrom, Gaydell Collier and Nancy Curtis.

In the grassroots tradition of Leaning into the Wind, the editors invited women from the Interior West to write about how friendship can ground us and help us grow.

A lively discussion among the editors and museum president Marsha Semmel focused on these writers' unflinching and unforgettable accounts of the flourishing of women's friendships in the American West. The program featured 12 readings by the writers, including two honoring Mother's Day. A book signing concluded this moving event.
